Taming down the Writing Section in IELTS

Image
Right.. so, friends have been asking me to add some tiny details, especially within the writing sections. Pour a bit more of my experience in getting a good score in writing test. Writing is arguably one of the biggest constraint when it comes to IELTS test, as it doesn't exist in any other popular English Proficiency test; TOEFL & TOEIC. so like it or not when you are required to have an IELTS score, you've got to tame this "beast", the question is.. HOW? so here it is..  Before I get straight forward, I should add that this is an entirely based on my own experience and you might find it useful or not, ( most likely you will) cause almost every person has their own way preparing for this kind of test. Like I said before there are many ways but there are almost no certain methods in scoring excellent in IELTS, particularly writing, but this has worked perfectly well for me, at least to score minimum 7.0, which is sublimely good one already for us Asians. Sharpen up Language, Taking Down Borders

First of all I would like to thank all the positive feedback I've been receiving lately for the first two post.. You've all been incredibly supportive towards me, and it feels so good to see that the writing is acknowledged :) I'll continue to share more and hopefully help those in need of encouragement..  Right.. back to business.. So I pick up this topic which is a quite broad subject to talk about. I'm gonna try to narrow this thing down to avoid boredom.. I'd like to start by sharing a bit of a story from a friend of mine. There's this, one friend. a good friend. We've known each other since the first semester of college. He possess a pretty decent skills in GIS ( Geographic Information System ), a fancy skill to have. Long story short, when the end of college is approaching, he sent a draft of research plan about using GIS to monitor environmental changes in Coral Reef Ecology to two Universities in New Zealand . He rolled the dice and waited fo...

Big City Dreams

Dream. A simple word but pretty abstract. There's a quote regarding to dream, I remember pretty vividly. It is a quote by Alex Gaskarth the lead singer of a band All Time Low. He said: "Dreams Don't Always Have to Come When Your Eyes are Shut and The Sun is Down" Pretty much he tried to deliver an example that most people dreamed of dreams when they are asleep, but dreams are actually essential to kept in mind, even when you are wide awake. Most people have dreams, it's necessary, you gotta keep those dreams alive. I am a true believer of dreams. Well not just dreams, but dreams with plans. I call it a goal. ( or you can just say it a dream, it's up to you ).. and I am in chase of my dreams.. You gotta too! I strongly believe that people can chase their dreams, and it's real. Now, tell me, who , in their wildest dreams, childhood dreams, dreamed of living in some sort of a DISNEY WORLD ? Your dream's been granted! Now.. we have ' DONALD and M...

Every New Beginning Comes from Some Other Beginning's End

Image
It's been a while, really. I don't know, four years maybe? since the last time I wrote something. Had a blog before, but hectic days as college student kept me out for a while from writing anything.. or perhaps? doing anything apart of college stuffs. You know those things, class, assignments, organisation.  As a student I, ( well, of course others too.. ) pour all my efforts on achieving goals, and to be honest it was a bit stressful.. a bit thou. More things to look at from the bright side like you make more friends, you get to know a new surroundings, new town, but yes, I should admit that it took a bit of a struggle to graduate ( or much of it, depends on how you see them) .. it took all your best efforts, and focus to graduate from college. Well, can't talk much about that anyway, college life, perhaps later on when I had a chance ( most likely I got plenty ) I'll write some about it, but now that I am graduated I got more time to.. to?? write. technically.. well,...
